With a population of just under 40,000 people, Columbia, Tennessee is full of great things to do. For instance, visitors in the area can check out the Rally Hill Manor for some local history. This old house was built in 1830 and contains 9 fireplaces, 15 rooms, a library and a beautiful full kitchen. Another attraction to see is the President James K Polk Home and Museum. This is just a five-minute walk from the Rally Hill Manor and contains quite the history of the eleventh President of the United States. The workers are dressed in old-time clothes with mannerisms from the early 1800s. Guests will see clothing, kitchen utensils, and even bedrooms set undisturbed from the early 1800s. For something to eat in the area, guests should check out Shoney’s Columbia restaurant. They serve excellent homemade dishes and their pancakes are so light and fluffy.
