Pearland High School has a deep history and shows the resilience of the Pearland people. It is also a Texas Historical Marker. The original building was also destroyed during a heavy storm, in 1915, but the school was rebuilt in 1937. When the school was destroyed, students had to walk for miles to go to the next nearby school. This, together with the Great Depression, caused a lot of children to not be able to focus on their education. This is when the resilience of the Pearland people came to light and the parents petitioned to have a new school built. Visitors, to this day, come visit the school to learn about the history of Pearland High School.
