Welcome to Flinders Lane, which is situated in Melbourne’s central business district. This minor street spans from Spring Street in the East to Spencer Street in the west in between Collins and Flinders Streets. The lane way initially started being a part of Hoddle Grid way back in 1837. The street was the hub of the rag trade in the city of Melbourne once upon a time. However, you will find an array of boutique designers here nestled in between several bars, cafés, loft apartments, and hotels. You will also find several prominent historic buildings with strict limits on heights of the new buildings so that the older buildings can be preserved from being redeveloped. Although the passage of time saw a few historical buildings disappearing, the lane is still famous for its chic edifices and SoHo atmosphere.
