5 HomeAway & Vrbo Vacation Rentals In Tampa, Florida - Updated 2021

The city of Tampa was founded on a rumour. Spurred by information that the city’s land was a profitable source of wild guavas, the city’s designer, Gavino Gutierrez, made a company trip down only to find out that the rumours were false. However, he quickly called down his cigar producing buddy, Vincente Ybor, (who Ybor City is named after) to check out the area. The area’s economy boomed from the business and rest is history. Tampa is now known for a variety of attractions, niches, and world-famous festivals. Pick your favourite HomeAway and Vrbo vacation rental and start planning the visit.

For history enthusiasts: Ybor City

Would you like to know how the cigar business made Tampa the city it is today? Do you wonder about Tampa’s pirate-filled history and its rashes of stagecoach robberies? How about its diverse community with Cuban, Spanish, Italian, and German influences? With loads of interesting things to learn and a nightlife to match its heyday, an accommodation in the historical Ybor City, ranked one of America’s top 10 cities, is just for you.

1. Vintage house in Ybor City (from 100 USD)

This East Tampa house is all sorts of adorable with its 1900s accents, sky blue exterior, and yellow frames. The property is spacious and tastefully decorated. Read up on your notes about the area before staying in this comfortable, vibrant space. Rest comfortably in either of the bedrooms after a long day of walking through old cigar factories and breweries. Or alternatively, after a long night of visiting various bars in the area! The place also has a washer / dryer and a shower / bath combo. Even if this is an old area, the appliances are all brand new and functioning.

Darling bungalow in a sweet setting amongst other similarly styled homes. Easy walking distance to clubs, food, and cigars for those who appreciate them. a short walk brings one to the trolley, which gives easy access to the aquarium, Amalie Arena and downtown Tampa. This was my second stay in that part of town in 4 years and I’d go back, again. Michael S.
